How to Schedule & Broadcast Music

Create a music schedule

A schedule consists of playlists programmed at specific times. As a reminder, you can only create your schedule after adding playlists to your Favorites or creating your own playlists - Manage my music content.

Go to Schedule, and Create a new schedule.

Click on Music then choose a name (e.g., default schedule) and select Start from an empty schedule. If you have already created a schedule, you can use it as a template for your new schedule by clicking on "Copy a schedule".

After saving, drag the playlists of your choice onto your schedule. There are three sections where you can search for your playlists:

• Your playlists: the playlists you created
• For you: if Deezer or an admin has created a custom playlist for you
• Favorites: the playlists you have added to your favorites, and thus preselected

Tip: Add playlists to your favorites before creating a schedule.

Once your schedule is complete, click on Save the week. This schedule will be applied to all days, weeks, and months of the year. You can edit it at any time by clicking on Change my typical week at the top right.

Tips and best practices

• Playlist Duration: You can extend the playlist's broadcast slot in the schedule as much as you want. However, be sure to check how long the playlist lasts.
  For example: if a playlist lasts 4 hours and you schedule it for 6 hours, some tracks will be repeated at random.
• Mixing Playlists: You can schedule two different playlists in the same time slot. This will result in a combination of the two playlists being broadcast. Take care, however, to ensure the playlists work together.
  For example: during the Christmas season, mix a Christmas playlist with a Soul playlist.
• Playlist by Tag: you can schedule a playlist based on a Tag (e.g., music genre, mood, etc.).
  For example: choose the tag "jazz" and schedule it for the desired time slot. Tracks tagged "jazz" will be played.

Broadcast a schedule

To broadcast your schedule on your devices, you have two options:

• From the schedule editor: when you have finished your schedule, click on Broadcast at the top right.
• From the dropdown menu on the left, click on Broadcast, below "My Schedules".

Next:

1. Select the schedule you want to broadcast
2. Associate it with a device. E.g.,: Paris Store
3. Choose between Broadcast (the schedule will be downloaded to your devices overnight) or Force to apply the schedule immediately

Be careful, forcing the schedule can clog your bandwidth. Downloading at night can help prevent this.
